National Park Krka 

The lakes of River Krka are peaceful and silent while its numerous cascades are playful. For thousands of years Krka has obstinately hollowed out its path through rock and has created its remarkable waterfalls.

 

The peculiar travertine cascades of its waterfalls are extremely rare in the world. In the year 1985 its was recognized and placed under protection proclaiming it a national park.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the greatest natural wonders of Europe. Embraced by high wooded mountains, one beneath another lie sixteen beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green water.

 

Connected to each other by a series of foaming cascades and thundering waterfalls, the lakes are fed by many rivers and streams. The National Park covers an area of 22308 hectares of forest that contain a variety of animal and plant life ,217 of lakes and streams, and 6957 of meadow and farm land.

River Cetina

Cetina is the most water-rich river in Dalmatia and it surrounding nature is beautiful. Canyon of Cetina river is also known as an important historical and archaeological site.

 

The quiet parts of the river and the second and third grade rapids enable a three-hour combination of adventure and relaxation in the amazing Cetina river canyon.

Blue Caves - Biševo

The Blue Cave is located in a small cove of Balun on the island of Biševo. 

 

In the year 1884. baron Eugene von Ransonnet described and depicted it. The cave has two entrances through which the magical game of the light and water is performed.

The Island of Hvar

The island of Hvar is two hours away by ferry boat from Split, and one hour away by Catamaran. Hvar is considered one of the most famous of the Dalmatian's islands going back 6000 years.

 

Its character is determined the Mediterranean climate with 2,800 hours of sunshine, beautiful nature, rich tradition, cultural and natural monuments, fields of lavender, vineyards and glorious night life.

The Island of Šolta

The island of Šolta is one hour away by ferry boat. It is the island of olives, wine, figs and honey, ideal for navigators, families and all those seeking an escape from stress. An island of unspoiled nature, beautiful bays such as Šešula, Zaglav and towns, Stomorska, Maslinica, Rogač and Nečujam are worth visiting.

The Blue Lagoon

The blue lagoons in Croatia is formed between a number of small islands which are usually separated by the shallow lagoon between them.

 

Since the Adriatic sea around the Croatian islands is always crystal clear the shallow water inside the lagoon is immaculately clear so you can easily see all the way to the bottom of the sea. You can even see all kinds of fishes and other sea animals from the lagoon bottom.

Bol - Island of Brač

The paradise beach Zlatni rat is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Croatian coastline and at the same time the most representative panorama of Bol. It was created by deposits of fine pebbles as sediment around the underwater reef, spreading  500 m into the sea.

 

The very tip of Zlatni rat keeps changing its shape constantly due to the influence of winds, waves and sea currents, making it appear different and repeatedly interesting. This location is a protected natural area and a favorite spot for surfers and kite-surfers from around the globe.

Pakleni Islands

Pakleni Islands are a gorgeous chain of wooded isles that stretches out immediately in front of Hvar town with crystal-clear waters, hidden beaches and deserted lagoons.

 

Although the name is often translated as ‘Hell’s Islands’, it's thought to derive from paklina, a pine resin that was once harvested here to waterproof boats.

Fortress of Klis

Fortress of Klis is only a 15-20 minute drive from the city. From its origin as a small strong hold built by the ancient Illyrian tribe Dalmatae, becoming a royal castle that was the seat of many Croatian kings, to its final development as a large fortress during the Ottoman wars in Europe, the Fortress has guarded the frontier.

 

Fun fact, the city of Meereen in Game of Thrones was filmed here.

Trogir

Trogir was founded by the Greek colonists in the 3rd century BC.  Culture, humanism and architecture flourished here in the Middle Ages; bulwarks and a tower which were built at that time within the ancient town nucleus defined its outlines.

 

Trogir is today on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage as the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic town in Central Europe.

Tvrdalj Castle 

This castle/villa is in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar. It was the summer residence of the Croatian poet Hektorović in the 16th century, but was in the family since 1448.

 

The inside courtyard contains a sea-water fish pool, arcaded terrace, a tower and a beautiful garden.
